Sci-fi fans most assuredly agree that two of the best classic sci-fi movies of all time are Forbidden Planet and The Day the Earth Stood Still. Here are some recent buildups completed in tribute to those two great movies. The first three pics are resin kits and then the Polar Lights 28" C-57d Spacecruiser and finally Robby's Taxi, a resin buildup:

Not many know this (including myself until requested to build it), but the pink panther had a panthermobile. It showed up in the 1969 Pink Panther cartoon at the beginning intro to the show. A really cool model although quite expensive because of its rarity. Here it is completed and airbrushed for a nice affect:
